When we visited Lausikula Guesthouse in the heart of Lotoalahi village, we were struck by how perfectly hosts Marielle and Manuel have combined modern comfort with genuine local hospitality.

Their spacious home features four generously sized, air-conditioned rooms. Each comes with its own private bathroom and modern touches like TV and free WiFi (always a bonus when you want to share those stunning sunset photos).

The contemporary design really caught our eye; think tiled floors and clean, minimalist décor that creates this wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Meanwhile, the expansive common lounge, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring, and the fully equipped communal kitchen give you the flexibility to whip up your own meals if you fancy.

Location-wise, you couldn't ask for better. The guesthouse sits just a few hundred metres from Lausikula Chapel and only an eight-minute drive from Lake Lalolalo, making it incredibly easy to explore the island's highlights. Best of all, the seaside location in the southwest of the island provides the perfect tranquil retreat.

Staying at Lausikula feels like staying with family rather than just booking a room. With complimentary breakfast each morning, free laundry facilities, parking and even board games available, it's that local "Airbnb" experience that's becoming harder to find these days.
